Ok friends, it’s the 3rd night here in Belfast but only day one into our Belfast adventure! There is a million reasons why I liked today but I’m going to go ahead and back track a little. I hate planes, I don’t like females and I have a fear of shared living quarters. Despite all the things listed above, I had zero trouble. I have never met a group of people like this in my life, such accepting and outgoing people. I can’t believe how easy it was to make friends and get connected within my first day. I’m a person who values relationships more than anything, so to have an experience like this where you sign up to be with 20 strangers and travel the world is truly something else.
Today was something like no other. I’ll be honest and say I’m not always the best student and keeping my attention is hard to do at times but the black cab tour was something that really opened my eyes. Learning about the peace wall helped me to better understand the culture and allow me to appreciate the things I often take for granted. This was a life changing day for me and I’m sure for others.
Random side note:
WE DO NOT RECYCLE says Ireland. I carried pop cans in my purse for hours all to take them back to the hotel bar to be told to throw them in the trash. I want to do a little more research on this but I felt more than guilty throwing the cans away because I’m a big fat tree hugger.
