Eye see London…

The amount of puns that ran through my head when thinking of what to title this blog post was almost endless. So naturally, I settled on the one referencing underpants. (I see London, I see France, I see your underpants)

First off, no, I am not a twelve year-old. Secondly, yes, it finally happened. I made it onto the London Eye.

While it may famously be known as the London Eye, it is actually named the Coca-Cola London Eye. With just one visit to this tourist haven  you will see just how much Coke wants the consumer to know that they sponsor this ferris wheel. Everywhere you turn you will see their logo. Whether it be on top of the wheel or when you’re purchasing your tickets, their branding is phenomenal.

But they don’t just sponsor the wheel, they also have a 4D experience that one can enter with if they purchase a ticket to the wheel. As well as both the 4D experience and the wheel, they work with an entire collection of attractions such as  Madame Tussauds London, London Dungeon, SEA LIFE London Aquarium and DreamWorks Tours Shrek’s Adventure! London. I knew Coke was a brand of the world, but I didn’t know just how many markets they have found their way into.

What does a ferris wheel have to do with Coke? Nothing. But the entire concept behind a ferris wheel is to have fun and enjoy oneself. This is what the Coca-Cola company wants related to their brand; a fun, enjoyable experience. By partnering with the London Eye they are showing that Coca-Cola is an entertaining brand.
