ITV got me feelin’ overly optimistic.

Hello ITV Studios UK, let me roll with the big dogs too. Today I had the honor and privilege of touring ITV Studios, the UK’s biggest production company. As a journalist with a specialization in television broadcast, I was literally living a dream. If I had ever questioned anything about my college major before..that all went out the window today when I walked into ITV. The people were friendly, the view was spectacular and the sun was shining all day long. I was able to speak with many of the ITV team and was able to take note as to what each individual did and how I can apply that to my daily life. I always knew that I wanted to go television but I just didn’t know how to go about it. After speaking with ITV, I now know that TV entertainment is what I have a passion for.

In my early childhood years my parents decided to get me into modeling. Once I got to a certain age I was kicked to the curb due to my height. I was stripped from doing everything that I loved just because I wasn’t growing fast enough. I am 5’2 and have always been terrified that the TV industry wouldn’t accept me unless I did behind the camera work but some of the ITV staff assured me that my height is hardly going to be an issue for me and my future in broadcast TV.

I spent the day in London with my best friends at my dream job…I am so excited to see what the future has in store for me now. This trip has really opened my eyes to all the opportunities that are out there. People always ask me..why journalism, it’s a dead field? I want to do what I love and love what I do and I have a passion for journalism and refuse to stop until I make it to the top. ITV made me realize that I don’t need to work for channel 6 in Lansing to reach my goals, I can branch out and be a runner in England and work my way up which is something I couldn’t have ever pictured before today. Today was life changing and I feel blessed to have been part of it all. Thank you ITV Studios! 🙂
